WATERMELONS BY ALEX BOOKER

Watermelons, an exhibition by Alex Booker
Watermelon I-IX, all prints are limited to editions of 15, signed and dated by the artist. Exhibition poster designed by Daniel Maughan is also available. See the collection here.

The red, green, white and black of a watermelon mirror the colours of the Palestinian flag. In times of restriction and censorship, protest imagery often evokes visual parallels as powerful symbols - subtle yet defiant expressions of solidarity.

In this exhibition, Alex Booker presents a new series of woodcut prints, Watermelon I-IX. Each piece is hand-printed in an edition of 15 at his Hackney studio, using GF Smith Colorplan Mist (175gsm).

With thanks to GF Smith for its generous paper sponsorship, and to Aine Donovan for invaluable support.
